Tokyo Digs a Garden by Jon-Erik Lappano

I really enjoyed this book for the stunning visuals and the overwhelm of nature that occurs when a little boy and his grandfather are wisely haphazard with the planting of some magic beans in their tiny plot in the city. Throughout the pages the reader is taken through a magical transformation whereupon the busy city once again becomes the wild oasis it once was- the place the grandfather can only recall.

The Pet Dragon by Christoph Niemann

This book was NEAT! It is definitely an interesting study and look at the foundations of the Chinese script and language and a humorous story to follow along with!

The Story of the Cross by Mary Joslin

This was a well written version of the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus as presented for children. Each page also has a short prayer that correlates with each station. MK loves the picture of the presentations of the angels when it covers the resurrection. Very nice library find.

Look by Edouard Manceau

This book is a wonderful board book - the pages and script are simple but large and easy for little hands to manipulate. The pages have high contrast and bright bold colors and each page is stimulating and interesting to look at. The favorited page was that with the shiny glossy texture that reflected back.
